OOC - I might need a little help with that, since I haven't played many canon characters in the Star Wars universe, but I'll try my best. (IC) "Do I know you?" Jira asked when the "slave" she sensed something about earlier nodded at her and smiled. Though Jira tried to be friendly with most people, she didn't like it when someone seemed to be suspicious or even curious about her, since wasn't that how she got captured in the first place? Since this person was going out of his way to make contact with Jira, was it possible he sensed her just like she did with him? "Maybe he isn't a slave, since why would a slave be acknowledging me in any way? And in a friendly and courteous manner?" This was giving the young adventurer a little bit of hope, but in fear of both of them getting discovered, Jira remained to err a little on the cautious side and looked down at her plate to get her mind on other things. "This doesn't look very appetizing." she thought to herself as she began to pick at her food. Apparently, one of the other slaves agreed, since he voiced his concern over the matter: "You call this food?!" he cried, "My greatest enemy could cook up a more appetizing concoction!" he exclaimed as he fired his plate in Jira's and the stranger's direction. Jira ducked, but she shouldn't have bothered, since the plate flew in another direction, slamming to the ground about a foot away from her. "Did I knock that plate away?" Jira wondered, flabbergasted. It seemed she wasn't the only one that was curious as to why the discarded plate of food didn't land anywhere near her (not that it would have hit her, since she ducked), since all eyes in the establishment seemed to be looking in her direction. "Uh oh, someone's in trouble now." Jira thought, wondering why ducking to avoid being hit by a discarded plate of food was garnishing so much attention...

“No, I don’t believe we’ve ever met,” Glade replied. He grabbed his food and took a seat beside the young woman. A moment later he was startled by the yelling. He looked up as the plate was discarded in their direction, then slapped to the ground by some unseen force. Glade lifted an eyebrow. “Interesting,” he thought to himself. Maybe this was why the force had whispered to him and directed her towards this slave.
Glade looked around at all the other slaves as they all stared at Jira. He sat there looking around, wondering what might happen next.

Jira would have liked to engage the stranger in more friendly conversation (like who he really was and what he was doing here) but at that moment, all eyes in the establishment seemed to be focused on her, asking for an explanation as to what just happened. Jira often didn't like being the center of attention, but if she didn't say something soon, she feared she might be in a heap of trouble, and she didn't know if her new found "friend" could offer any assistance.
"If I knocked that plate away, then I'm sorry for the distraction." she began, "Something has been happening to me lately, and I don't know what it is or how to control it, so please go on with your day and leave me be."
The slave that first caused the disruption started to advance toward the young adventurer for some kind of reprimand (Jira could tell by his body language that he wasn't happy with her answer and was going to demand that she give a better one, even if he had to beat it out of her, if it came to that). What stopped him in his tracks was the voice of another man that just came into the dining area:
"Leave the young lady alone! She was only trying to avoid being hit by the food that you discarded!"
The slave turned around and laughed. Obviously he had dealings with this individual before, and didn't waste any time to insult him every time they seemed to cross paths: "Han Solo! Did your most recent smuggling activity fall through, and you managed to find yourself in this fine establishment?" he mocked.
"Han Solo?" Jira wondered, flabbergasted yet again. How could her strange abilities be garnering so much attention as of late? Even on her homeworld of Deyer, there were stories of Han Solo's exploits, and Jira guessed that the latest one ended up going terribly wrong (or at least not how he was expecting) and he ended up getting himself captured, much like Jira had.
"Never mind how I ended up here..." Han Solo continued, "Why are you picking on a defenseless young lady?"
"Defenseless? She knocked that plate away in a way a Jedi would!" he shot back.
Han Solo just chuckled. Obviously, he didn't believe in the Force, and was about to say something against it that somehow insulted the slave that began this commotion in the first place. Jira was very curious as to how this confrontation would end, since it seemed to be the distraction she needed at the moment...

Glade stood to his feet as the slave approached Jira in a threatening manner. Then, the confrontation was halted by a third voice that entered the scene. Han Solo.
“This is getting interesting,” Glade thought to himself.
He watched as the conversation unfolded, glancing at Jira from time to time. It did seem as though she had used the force, the slave was right about that much. The last thing the young woman needed, though, was that kind of a reputation making it back to the slave leaders. There was no telling what they might do with her if they thought she could use the force. They might well even auction her off to a sith.
Glade interrupted the conversation. “A Jedi?” He mocked the slave. “You really think a Jedi would get captured and forced to work in these mines? If she was a Jedi, why would she still be here? Maybe the hard work and lack of sleep and sunlight is effecting your head.” Glade subtly waved a finger at the man as he spoke, doing his best to use a Jedi mind trick and convince the man of what he was saying. He wasn’t very good at mind tricks, though, but maybe it would be enough to at least make the slave question whether he had really seen what he thought he had.

When Jira saw the stranger wave his hand around when he began to defend her, she then knew that he wasn't a slave. "He must be a Jedi Knight. But what's he doing here?" she thought to herself, but kept quiet, since she didn't want to land the both of them in hot water. If he was successful at persuading the slave that began all this commotion in the first place that he didn't see what he thought that he saw, perhaps everyone will go back to minding their own business. "But that still doesn't explain what a Jedi is doing posing as a common slave. Perhaps he wants to see if we're being treated rightly and fairly, so don't get too hopeful yet." Jira thought to herself, reminding herself that this person might be defending Jira's actions, but she still didn't know what he was doing here or what his purpose was. After being captured on her homeworld of Deyer, Jira was very suspicious of people who tried to befriend her, since look what happened to her on Deyer...
The slave, it seemed, had a very weak mind, and seemed to fall for the stranger's powers of persuasion, so to speak. "Yeah, maybe I was just upset with the cuisine being not to my liking and I found it odd that it didn't hit the young lady. I meant no disrespect." and wandered off to a vacant spot where he wouldn't cause any more trouble.
After things had calmed down a bit, Jira wondered where this Han Solo character had wandered off to, but decided to ask the stranger a few more questions without getting a little too personal: "You're not exactly a slave, are you? I've never seen a slave being able to do that, since that ruffian looked like he was about to pulverize me, if you'll excuse my choice of words."
Han Solo, as it turned out, just stepped into the dining area to get a bite to eat before he ran into that old acquaintance of his. He was usually pretty good at talking his way out of any situation he found himself in, but he didn't want the acquaintance to cause any more harm to the young lady, so when her companion got up and started on about his mumbo jumbo about something he found very hard to take seriously, he decided to take his exit and find out where Chewie (his pet name for Chewbacca, the Wookie he travelled with) had gone off to, since without his blaster, he wouldn't be very useful in defending the young lady's honor if things turned violent...

Glade was pleasantly surprised that his mind trick worked so well. The slave walked away, the situation defused, and everyone went back to what they had been doing. Everyone except Jira. “You're not exactly a slave, are you? I've never seen a slave being able to do that, since that ruffian looked like he was about to pulverize me, if you'll excuse my choice of words,” she had stated to him.
Glade had no reason not to trust her, but amongst all the other slaves wasn’t a safe place to discuss much. “No, I’m not from here,” he admitted. “Hopefully, if things turn out well, none of us will be... from here... eventually.” He wouldn’t come right out and say it, but he hinted to the fact that the Jedi were on to the slavers and working to take them down.

OOC - Sorry for the delay, I got busy on some of my other boards including The Force.net where Jira and some other padawans are on a mission to build their first lightsaber. IC: "Fair enough." Jira replied. She knew from experience not to press strangers. He would tell her more when he chose to. Though she still sensed that he was something other than a slave, she would let him be for the moment. Getting up, Jira addressed the stranger once more: "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to find a way out of the mines and off this planet, since there's a good chance there will be another incident if another prisoner is unhappy with the food selection, so unless you have some kind of transport..." she trailed off, wondering if she could some how sneak aboard the next transport that came in transferring some more prisoners. "And then what?" the young adventurer thought to herself, "Take over the transport and somehow make it back to Deyer?" even she thought that was a fool hardy idea, since she may be Force Sensitive, but she didn't know how to use it without attracting attention, so she might end up getting herself killed (or re-captured, and she wasn't planning on coming back to Corellia anytime soon). "I wonder if that Han Solo character has a transport, or he can somehow commandeer one?" Jira thought to herself as she looked back to the table she had been sitting at. The stranger was still there, looking at her as if he was trying to figure out what she might be thinking. The young adventurer heard rumors that the Jedi often used what was called a mind trick to persuade others and she hoped that's not what he was doing on her, but since she still was thinking of a way to escape, she put that thought right out of her mind and wondered where she could find Han Solo...

OOC: It’s all good. Life gets busy! I know all too well.
IC:
Glade went about his business, gathering more information to use against the slavers. As he meandered about, working in the mines and working his real job, he happened to over hear a conversation by Han Solo and his Wookie friend. He couldn’t understand the Wookie, but by what the man was saying, he had a plan to get out of the mines.
Glade smiled. He hadn’t been here long, but he had already located two or three people who could help him liberate all these slaves. He assumed Jirah would be willing to help if it meant she would gain her own freedom as well.
